Cheryl Lee Ford

Cheryl Lee Ford, age 64 of Mound, passed peacefully on September 3, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, at Mound Cowboy Church Pavillion, 2000 County Road 321, Gatesville, Texas, with Pastor Bruce Cox officiating.

Cheryl was born on March 5, 1961, in Gatesville, Texas to Dick and Gracie Ford. Cheryl attended Gatesville ISD and graduated in 1979. After graduation, Cheryl worked at Walls Manufacturing until 1998. In 1987, she started working part time for RDA-Hopson Brothers, packing orders in the Mound warehouse. In 1998 she began working full time with RDA delivering to salons all across Central Texas until 2022. Cheryl loved the salon owners and hair stylists she served over the years. In 2023, Cheryl began working for Texas Department of Criminal Justice in the mail room at the Hughes Unit.

Cheryl was an active member of Live Oak Baptist Church growing up and worked in the nursery for over twenty years. Taking care of babies brought so much joy to her life. Later in life, Cheryl was a member of the Mound Cowboy church and served as a Vacation Bible School leader and led Sunday School.

Cheryl was well known for her love of crafts and blessing others with them. She had a servant’s heart and deeply loved her family and friends. She also enjoyed capturing memories through pictures and Dr. Pepper.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Dick Ford; and her grandparents, Otis and Lena Richards.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, Gracie Ford; brother, Billy Bob Ford; and niece, who was like her daughter, Annie May and husband, Brett. She was the beloved CC to her great niece, Gracyn May and great nephew, Hudson May. She leaves behind a host of cousins whom she enjoyed connecting with regularly. Cheryl is also an honorary member of the Hopson family whom she loved dearly.

The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care Cheryl received from Hillside Medical Lodge in her final days, and for the love and support shown by all the friends and family who visited her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mound Cowboy Church, Vacation Bible School, P.O. Box 103, Mound, TX 76558.
