Charles Luke Sherburne

Charles Luke Sherburne, age 27, left us on December 1, 2020. Luke was born December 29, 1992 to April Lee Sherburne in Temple, Texas. Services are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Coryell Community Church. Visitation will be from 10 am to 4 pm Friday, December 11, 2020 at the funeral home. Luke’s passions in life were his family, his dog Azaylia, art, photography and his friends. He loved big and left every person he met believing that they were his favorite. While attending Gatesville High School he worked at the Boys and Girls Club, enjoyed culinary arts and gave much of his time volunteering in many different capacities with the elderly and youth. Upon high school graduation in 2012 he furthered his education through Central Texas College and then joined the Army Nation Guard that he continued to serve under. Luke had a vibrant personality and a magnetic spirit about him. He loved deeply and believed in justice. He was a problem solver and had a way of picking people up when they were down. He had a dry and witty sense of humor that brought shock and awe to the hearer. He was confident yet humble, determined but not stubborn, he loved to learn and believed that knowledge is power. He was a brilliant thinker whose knowledge surpassed his age. Luke is survived by his Mother: April Sherburne-Southerland, Father: Michael Southerland, sisters: Breanna and Rebecca Sherburne, brother: Benny Isaiah Sherburne and nephews: Crasin and Harlan Sherburne. Also survived by his Grandma: Sugar (Barbara Cox), two aunts and their families, two uncles and their families and numerous cousins. Charles Luke will be deeply and sorely missed by all who knew him.
