Charles Allen Barnhill Jr., or as we all know him as Charlie, age 32, of Gatesville, Texas passed away on Saturday November 29, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6 at Scott's Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Turnersville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Charlie was born on December 27, 1992, to Vickie Renee and Charles Barnhill Sr. in Temple, Texas. He was raised in a loving household in Gatesville, Texas where he made lifelong memories and friendships. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 2011, in which he was a proud Gatesville Hornet Band Member and took great pride in his work. He continued to achieve his associates degree at University of Texas, Arlington. He was currently employed at the Gatesville Intermediate School, where he loved his job working as a paraprofessional and teaming up with his coworkers to enrich the lives of every child.
Music was his passion, and he was well known as a skilled and intuitive musician. He was incredibly intelligent and was always eager to share his knowledge to help others. He had a gift for solving problems and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He put pride in everything that he did. He was a true friend who believed in kindness and was the gentlest soul you would ever meet. Though he was a man of few words, his love ran deep and his pride in his family was unmatched.
Charlie is preceded in death by his siblings Laurie, Gary, and DJ and is joyfully reunited with his Gammy and Pa.
He is survived by his grandparents, John and Janis Barnhill; parents, Vickie Renee and Charles Barnhill Sr.; siblings, Vickie Sue and husband, James Cox, Shari Lynn Barnhill, and Justin Riddle; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Our "Uncle Dollie' will be missed deeply by his niece, Harper and nephew, Axel, as they were the light of his life and his friends, family, and all who were fortunate to know him.
