Charlene Barker Palmer

Charlene Barker Palmer, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home on January 25, 2026, in Salado, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Turnersville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday, at Scott’s Funeral Home.

Charlene was born on July 16, 1940, in Cave Creek, Texas, to Jimmie and Lavena Barker. She spent much of her childhood in Turnersville, Texas, alongside her brother, Lester Barker. It was in Gatesville, Texas, at the Palace Theater that Charlene’s lifelong love story began when she met her husband, Nathan Gene Palmer.

Charlene was a devoted wife and a loving mother to three children: Keith, Audie, and Natalie Palmer. Her family continued to grow, bringing her immense joy through her four grandchildren, Malisa, Sara, Dana, and Tyler, and seven cherished great-grandchildren.

She was baptized into the Church of Christ in Gatesville at a young age and carried her faith with her throughout her life, guiding her actions and strengthening her spirit.

Charlene was a true beauty inside and out with an infectious laugh, which could light up any room. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and warmth, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
