Casey Mae “Sissy” Wood

Casey Wood, age 34, of Gatesville, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Gatesville. Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 26, 2018, at Moody Cemetery, Moody, TX.  Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2018 at Scott’s Funeral Home.Casey was born on September 23, 1984 in Temple, TX to Darlene Stephenson and the late Hank Stephenson.  She grew up and attended school in Moody and Gatesville.  Casey was a “people person”, loved people and socializing with them.  She was a very family oriented person, loved her family, especially her children and her brothers, and the annual family reunions at Schlitterbahn.  She could bring the light to a room, often being heard before she was seen.  Casey always had a joke to tell and would never pass up an opportunity to take a selfie. She had a big heart for her family and animals, always more concerned for others than herself. Casey would push and test the limits; she would be one that you would consider “easy to love, but hard to handle.”  Casey liked playing games, anything from darts to monopoly.  She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents; and nephew, Peyton.Casey is survived by her mother, Darlene Stephenson and stepfather Donald Donahoo; son, Hayden; daughter, Eryn; brothers, Chad and Matt Stephenson; step-sister, Rachel of Raleigh, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
