Billy Wayne Floyd, Sr.

Billy Wayne Floyd, Sr. age 82 of Gatesville, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Private family graveside services will be held at Hemmeline Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Cox officiating.

Billy Wayne Floyd, Sr. was born on September 2, 1940 in Jonesboro, to the late Howard Porter and Gladys Annie Ogle Floyd.  He married Joyce Marie Faubion on June 15, 1963 in Coryell City.  He worked as a civil service employee at Ft. Hood as an electronic technician, where he maintained the Instrument Landing System and radar equipment at the air field.  He retired after 30 years of service.  He was a member of White Mound Cowboy Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce (PeeWee) Floyd; brothers, John Floyd, H.P. Floyd, Tommy Floyd, Raymond Floyd, Joe Floyd; and a sister, Bernice Schoenewolf.

Billy is survived by his two sons, Wayne Floyd and wife, Glynda; Danny Floyd; sister, Pauline Young; grandchildren, Teilor Floyd, Parker Floyd, Katy Waters and husband, Derrick, Colton Mitchell and wife, Brandy, Brandy Saunders and husband, Mike, Chance Toole; and numerous great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has designated that memorials be made to White Mound Cowboy Church, P.O. Box 103, Mound, TX 76558.
