Obituary

William Leroy “Bill” Dearmore passed away on October 14, 2026, at the age of 80.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17 at Moffat Cemetery, with David Kyle officiating.

Bill was born on January 31, 1946, in South Gate, California. In 1978, he married Judy Dearmore, and together they made their home in Belton. He worked as a market manager and butcher at HEB, where his steady work and dedication reflected the dependable character for which he will be remembered.

Music was one of Bill’s great gifts and lasting joys. A talented steel guitar player, he performed in several bands and shared his musicianship with many audiences over the years. His love of music carried him to remarkable stages, including touring with Gene Watson, and performing at the Grand Ole Opry. Those experiences stand as a tribute to both his talent and the deep passion he brought to his craft.

Bill will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Judy Dearmore. He is also survived by his children, Cheryl Kaufman, Billy Tippit, Brian Orange and wife Dawn, Wayne Orange, and Billy Dearmore and wife Shanna; grandchildren, Garrett Orange, David Orange, Brittany Wilkerson and husband Ben, Parker Dearmore, Presley Dearmore, Huston Dearmore and Ashton Rhea; and great grandchildren Keeli, Tate and Dawson.

Bill’s life was one of commitment, talent, and love for those closest to him. He will be remembered with affection and gratitude by all who knew him.
