Bill Caldwell, age 83 of Gatesville, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022, in McGregor.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the Gatesville Church of Christ, with Minister Jim Hall officiating.

Bill was born on November 19, 1938, in Hugo, Oklahoma to the late Willis and Ida Campbell Caldwell.  He grew up in the Rock Hill community, north of Hugo, Oklahoma and graduated from high school in Hugo. He was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard. He married Goldie Hamill on June 11, 1960.  They resided in Ft. Stockton, Texas, where he worked at the Firestone Test Center for 27 years.  While there, he was a deacon at the Church of Christ. He and his wife moved to Gatesville in 2007.  He was a long-standing member of the Gatesville Church of Christ. He was a friend to everyone and if you needed a smile, he would give you his.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Caldwell; brothers and sisters, Wayne Caldwell, Cecil Caldwell, Hugh Caldwell, Dillard Caldwell, Ollie Young and Esther Creacy.

Bill is survived by his wife, Goldie Caldwell; son, Randy Caldwell and wife, Mary; daughter, Cara Bradford; grandson, Nathan Caldwell; and two great-grandchildren.
