Betty Nell Farley

Betty Nell Farley, age 90 of Mound, passed away on September 14, 2025. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, at Mound Cemetery.

Betty was born on August 20, 1935, at home in Whitehall, Texas to the late Loy “Pete” and Nelly Stubblefield. Betty grew up on the family farm and attended school in Moody. On February 12, 1955, Betty married Hurstell “Gus” Farley on a dare, and they were happily married for 57 years. Gus and Betty raised their family in Gatesville before moving to Mound.

Betty worked in Gatesville I.S.D. for over twenty years and then went to work at Hillside Manor. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her yard. She was a lifetime Dallas Cowboy fan. Betty will be remembered for her quick wit and sassy banter. She will also be remembered for her home cooked meals and saying the blessing at family gatherings. The many traditions she established will be carried on by her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hurstell “Gus” Farley; and daughter, Theresa “Terry” Ingram.

Betty is survived by her granddaughter, Mandie Ingram; grandson, Clayton Ingram and wife, Diana; great grandchildren, Kealey Hitzegrad, Brodey Bartek, Elliott Ingram, and Xander Ingram; great great grandchildren, Zaiden Bartek, RyAnn Foley, and Ellodii Ingram.
