Belinda Brady

Belinda Brady, age 67 of Gatesville, peacefully left this world on Friday, August 21, 2026, while at home surrounded by family and loved ones.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Ray Ashby officiating.

Belinda Carol Brady was born on October 11, 1958 in San Augustine, Texas to the late Dwayne and Corine Townsen Boyd. In the early 80’s, she began her career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Correctional Officer. In 1988, while living in Huntsville, Texas, she met Albert Brady. She and Albert later married and moved to Gatesville where they made their home and built a life together. Belinda worked as a Communications Officer for the Gatesville Police Department for several years before returning to TDCJ. She retired in 2007.

Belinda had a wonderful philosophy about life. Her motto was love, laugh, and live life; don’t just be alive. She believed that it was the little things that meant the most and encouraged those around her to appreciate the simple joys of everyday life. She enjoyed working in her garden, going fishing, and preparing meals for others.

Belinda was preceded in death by her parents, and two daughters, Amanda and Candice. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Albert Brady; her much loved fur baby, Pipi; and a large number of family and friends.

Belinda’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Brandy and Jenny of Ascension Hospice for the wonderful, loving care they provided for Belinda and her family.

As Belinda would say, “Don’t be sad. Celebrate a life that was so very blessed and that was filled with so much love.”
