Belen Jane Wilson

Belen Jane Wilson passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in Gatesville, Texas, at the age of 73. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, at Scott's Funeral Home, with Pastor Bruce Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 15, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Belen was born on October 1, 1951, in Temple, Texas, to the late William and Ella Lois Ralston. Belen was raised in Belton, where she graduated from Belton High School before obtaining a bachelors degree from Baptist Bible College of Missouri in 1973. A devoted Sunday School teacher at Calvary Baptist Church in Belton, Belen's faith and commitment to nurturing others shone brightly throughout her life. Her professional journey included roles at the Temple Daily Telegram, as a correctional officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Gatesville, as a dispatcher with Temple Police Department, and serving in the Human Resources department at Coryell Memorial Hospital.

Belen was a proud member of White Mound Baptist Church and was known for her beautiful singing voice. She was adventurous at heart, always open to trying new things and embracing life with a strong spirit and a delightful sense of humor. Belen had a talent for creating delicious Christmas cookies and fudge that were enjoyed by family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steve Wilson, who passed away on September 2, 2011; and her brother, Larry Ralston.

Belen is survived by her four children, Ryan Wilson and his wife, Jennifer; Eric Wilson and his wife, Amanda; Lori Wilson; and Jordan Wilson; grandchildren, Zach Wilson, Hailey Wilson, Chayson Melton, Alexis Bushong, Olivia Melton, Joey Eaves, Caitlyn Wilson, and Hunter Wilson; and her sister, Jo Anne Hood and her husband, Tommy Hood.
