Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Tim Crosby officiating.  Burial will follow at Osage Cemetery.

Barbara was born January 26, 1943 to G. B. and Laura Willis Loving in Fort Worth, Texas. She was God’s description of a virtuous woman.  She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was active as a children’s and youth Sunday School teacher.  She was also active in working with military wives.

Barbara graduated from Birdville High School in 1961.  She graduated from Texas Women’s University with a Bachelor Degree in Home Economics.  While attending T.W.U., she met her future husband Bob Edwards in 1964. They were married on June 26, 1965.  They moved to Gatesville in 1966, where she taught at the Gatesville State School for Boy’s, until they started their family.  She took pride in being a homemaker and wife. She loved her family and taking care of them.  “Mimi” as she was known to her grandchildren, loved having them in her home and treasured taking them on outings to Barnes and Noble, The Bee Hive, The Bean Bag, Olive Garden, Toys ‘R Us, the Mayborn Museum and to Pre School. Those that knew her, know that her smile and laugh could brighten any room.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gina Chado.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bob Edwards; sons, Brett Edwards and wife, Kristi of Celina, Brian Edwards and wife, Michelle of Gatesville; grandchildren, Lauren Lynn and husband, Kyle of Sherman, Katelynn Edwards of Houston, Susan, and Cameron Edwards of Celina, Mason, Logan, Addyson, and Samuel Edwards of Gatesville; brother-in-law, Stanley Chado of Amarillo; nephew, Todd Chado and wife, Sandy of Canyon; and a niece, Jennifer Chado of Amarillo.

Barbara’s family would like to express their love and appreciation to her nurse, Jessica at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest.
