Mrs. Ann Bragewitz Tippit, age 90, of Gatesville. passed away Friday Morning, February 14, 2020 at her home.  Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2020 at Scott’s Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She was born on February 13, 1930 in Leon Junction.  She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Florence Key Bragewitz.  Ann was Baptized in the Leon River when she was a teenager.  Ann married her longtime love, Billy Gene Tippit in 1948, who preceded her in death in 1998.  She was also preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers, two sons-in-law, George Holley and Rudy Moore. Ann was renowned for her home cooking and baking. Everyone always knew they would have plenty of homemade food.  Many mornings you would be greeted with the smell of homemade biscuits and hot coffee. In the afternoons, you could come back to her home for some yeast rolls and cinnamon rolls drizzled with her special caramel icing that would melt in your mouth. One of Ann’s passions was fishing whether on a river, tank, or lake. If she wasn’t fishing, she loved to talk about fishing with family and friends. Music was also one of Ann’s favorite pastimes. She could spend hours tapping her foot to the rhythm of a band or swaying to the tunes on the radio. Music would lighten her heart on any given day. Ann loved yard work and gardening as many things; beautiful, exciting, and rewarding. She taught the people around her to love and enjoy life. Ann is survived by her children, Marsha Cowart and husband Billy Jack, Dale Tippit and wife Alice, Deedra Moore and Angie Holley; grandchildren, Kay Hunt, Denver Tippit, Sunshine Buckner, Marshall Bates, B. J. Bates, Kori Cowart, Wacey Moore and Brandi Cowart; great-grandchildren, Kelby Shults, Case Jones, Riann Tippit, Kagen Hunt, Jeret Burks, Breeze Buckner, Grace Bates, Emma Burks, Remington Bates, Barrett Bates, Bliss Buckner, Mabrey Moore and Wemberly Tippit, sisters-in-law, Helen Bragewitz, Sue Bragewitz and Joyce Tippit, brothers-in-law; Doyle Tippit and wife Sarabeth and numerous nieces and nephews.
