Ann Nell DeLord, age 91 of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Eastwood Baptist Church with Pastor Lynn Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ann Nell was born July 8, 1934 to Earl and Edna Hampton in Pearl, Texas. She was one of four girls, with sisters Helen, Earlene, and Ruth, and was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Ann Nell married the love of her life, Johnny DeLord on September 20, 1952. They began their life together in Corpus Christi where Ann Nell supported Johnny throughout his deployment in the United States Navy. The couple moved back to Pearl before settling in their current home in 1964. Between 1960 and 1967, their family grew with the addition of three sons and one daughter: Arnold Darrell, Blake Todd, Regina Ann and Paul Allen. Ann Nell and Johnny shared 73 wonderful years of marriage together.
She earned a degree from Central Texas College and began her career as a bookkeeper. She and Johnny shared a love for attending church and camping together. In 1980, Ann Nell received one of her favorite titles – MeMaw. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Ann Nell was preceded in death by her parents; sisters; and daughter, Regina.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Johnny; sons, Arnold Darrell DeLord and wife Lisa, Blake Todd DeLord and wife Kellie, and Paul Allen DeLord and wife Lynne; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
