Allene Bertha Dixon

Allene Bertha Dixon passed away September 16, 2026, at age 101. A private burial will be held.

Allene was born September 7, 1925, in Paige, Texas, to the late Erich and Bertha Fischer. The family moved to The Grove, Texas, and Allene graduated from Flat High School in 1943. Allene moved to Temple to work, and in 1945 married the love of her life, James Alvis Dixon. After their marriage, James and Allene moved to Seattle, Texas (in what is now Ft. Hood), and then to Gatesville where they were members of Cold Springs Baptist Church in Flat and later First Baptist Church of Gatesville.

Allene was a homemaker, and she loved gardening. After raising her children, she became a very loved “Memaw” to her grandchildren.

Allene was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers and one sister (Elwood Fischer, Curtis Fischer, Harvey Fischer, Elton Fischer, Willard Fischer, LeeRoy Fischer, and Norma Fischer).

She is survived by her three children (Ronald Dixon and wife Sue, Pam Ray and husband Hap, Kim Dahl and husband Kenneth); brother Myron Fischer, grandchildren (Julie Dixon, Haley Laskowski and husband Brad, Cliff Ray and wife Carrie, Greg Ray, Mitch Dahl, Miles Dahl and wife Natasha), along with nine precious great grandchildren (Cort Reinarz, Case Reinarz, Gage Laskowski, Grant Laskowski, Maverick Ray, Ryker Ray, Zoey Dahl, Bailor Dahl, and Brynn Dahl.)

The family would like to thank the Coryell Welcome staff for being such a loving part of Allene’s life.
