Aaron Wood

Aaron Thomas Wood went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 30, 2023.  He was a beloved son, father, brother, and Christian.

Private graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Aaron was born on August 3, 1983, in Fort Worth, Texas to Scott Wood and Terri McNeill Wood.  He grew up in Gatesville, where he was part of the 2001 graduating class of Gatesville High School.  After working in home construction, road boring and cable installation, he went on to attend and graduate from the Ocean Corporation as a Master Diver and underwater welder on August 2, 2013.

During high school, Aaron met the true love of his life, Casey Mae Stephenson.  Together, they had twins, Hayden Thomas Wood and Eryn Nakole Wood on November 6, 2003.  Hayden and Eryn will always remember how their dad’s eyes sparkled when he smiled, his laugh, his infinite energy and his love for drawing.  He will be remembered by many for his willingness to help everyone that needed a place to stay, food to eat, a shower, and even clean clothes.  He would give you the shirt off his back if needed.

Aaron’s family will be forever grateful that he was Baptized at Live Oak Baptist Church in Gatesville and has peace knowing he is at rest with his eternal Father.

Aaron was preceded in death by his loved ones; wife, Casey; grandparents, Thomas G. McNeill, Pauline Wright McNeill, Peggy Dean Moss Wood; and stepbrother, Clayton Paul Glezman.

He will lovingly be remembered by his children, Hayden and Eryn; parents, Scott and Terri; stepmother, Bonnie Poteet Wood; younger brother, Alex Spencer Wood; stepbrother, Joseph David Glezman and wife, Kristin.  Also cherishing memories of Aaron are grandparents, Bill and Nancy Wood; Aunts, Joni Wood Whitmire and husband, Ronnie, Hilliery Jeyne Ezell and husband, Cliff; cousins, Meagan Whitmire Hanzelka and husband, Johnny, Tanner Crockett Whitmire and wife, Christen, Kate Salinas and husband, Ricky, Pete Ezell; and lifelong best friends, Emilio Coulter and Lisa Holden.

In lieu of flowers, Aaron’s family request memorials be made to the Boys and Girls Club, 2533 E. Main Street, Gatesville, TX 76528.

With love from the Wood family.
