David L. Armer

David L. Armer, age 70, of Gatesville passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Temple, Texas.Per Mr. Armer’s request, there will not be a memorial service. If you would like to express your condolences to his family, there will be a register book at the funeral home or online at scottsfh.com.David was born on August 27, 1943 in Hayworth, Oklahoma to the late David and Lou-Eva Sharp Armer. He grew up and went to school in Hayworth, Oklahoma, graduating from Hayworth High School in 1961. He then entered the U. S. Navy and served four years. He married Effie Edwards in 1965. They resided in Odessa most of their married life, moving to Gatesville in 1991. He was self-employed as a carpenter. He was a 40 year member of Odessa Masonic Lodge #955 A.F. & A.M.He was preceded in death by his sister, Lula May Choate.He is survived by his wife, Effie Armer of Gatesville; sons, David Lee Armer, Jr. of Orange, Oklahoma; daughter, Donna Hawk of Gatesville; sister, Betty Maynard of Levita; two grandchildren, Krystal Lee Hawk and Marshall David Armer; two great-grandchildren, Audrick Hawk and Kylar Copeland; and numerous nieces and nephews.Memorials may be made to American Lung Association.
