Sonny Goodwin

Sonny Goodwin, age 74, of Oglesby passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2014 at the First Baptist Church Gatesville with the Rev. Walter Davidson officiating with private burial following at Post Oak Cemetery.Sonny was born on November 16, 1939 in Eagle Springs, Texas to the late J. C. and Clara Wehrmann Goodwin. He married Jean Brewer on June 13, 1959. He was the Mayor of the City of Oglesby and a member of the Oglesby Lions Club. He was a member of the Assembly of God in Moody, Texas.He was preceded in death by his parents.Sonny is survived by his wife, Jean Goodwin; daughter, Jeannie Williams and husband, Frank; grandchildren, Morgan Estes and husband, Caleb and Mason Williams; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Estes; and brother, Wayne Goodwin.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oglesby Lions Club, c/o John McClure, 613 Rolling Hills Rd., Gatesville, TX 76528.
