Jose Hernandez, age 44, of Gatesville passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service. Jose was born on May 7, 1969 in St. Luis, Mexico. He moved to Gatesville in 1998. Jose worked for Andy Lella. He was a Catholic. Jose is survived by his wife, Lionor Garcia of Gatesville; children, Jo Ann Smith and husband, Les, Joe Garcia and wife, Ellen, Betty Myers and husband, Robert, Mary Colson and husband, Frank, all of Gatesville; brother, Ray De La Cruz and wife, Norma of Houston; grandchildren, Christopher and Michelle Garcia, Amelia Johncox, Austin Smith, Tiffany and Caleb Sanders, Amber Colson, Katy Colson, Heather Garcia, Josee Myers, and Jaylea Smith; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Sanders, Bella Johncox, and Emilee Sanders.
