Barry Vaughn Tippit

Barry Vaughn Tippit, age 61, of Manor, formerly of San Antonio and Gatesville passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Flint Creek Cemetery. Barry was born on June 4, 1952 in Gatesville, Texas to Barney Tippit and Sis Ayres Tippit. He attended school in Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1970. He attended Texas State Technical Institute for drafting. After college, he worked with computers for several companies, ending his career with Hewlett Packard. Barry enjoyed collecting and shooting guns, hunting, the outdoors, and traveling all over the world with his job. He loved riding motorcycles through many states and owning Ford’s, especially pickups, a 1965 Mustang, and a Thunderbird convertible. He resided in Gatesville, San Antonio, and Austin, and most recently in the Manor community following a lengthy illness. Barry loved his three girls more than they will ever know. He was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sis Ayres Tippit; and nephews, Christopher Tyrel Tippit and David Heath Hill. Barry is survived by his daughters, Amy Tippit Moore, Cacy Tippit Minter and husband, Jerame, and Hayly Tippit Goodman and husband, Shannon; father, Barney Tippit; brother, Tom Tippit and wife, Gail; three grandchildren, Robbie, Tobin, and Ashlyn; niece, Lindsey Tippit; and nephew, Chad Hill.
