Gerrell Wayne Barrington

Gerrell Wayne Barrington, age 86, of Gatesville, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2008, at a Gatesville hospital. Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Live Oak Baptist Church with Dr. Levi Price officiating. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Gerrell was born June 24, 1921 in Pearl, Texas. He is the son of Ernest Calvin Barrington and Ellie Mae Ballard Barrington. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1940. After graduating he served in the United States Army Air Force from 1942 until 1945. He worked 23 years for Trunkline Gas Company in Premont, Alvin and Cypress. Mr. Barrington served as Worthy Patron of The Eastern Star from 1998 until 1999. He was a deacon in the Baptist Church and a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister and 1 great granddaughter. Survivors include wife, Dorothy Barrington; daughter, Gerry Foley; sons, Danny Barrington and Billy Barrington; sister, Gladys Taylor; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
