Thomas W. DeLord

Thomas W. DeLord, 80, of Flat passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, January, 18, 2008 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Thomas was born on May 27, 1927 in Coryell County to the late Thomas and Era Mae Ingram DeLord. He served as a Marine from 1946 to 1948 before he married Mable Ann Sherwood on August 9, 1949. Thomas was a truck driver, mostly hauling cattle, for over 40 years. Thomas was a jack of all trades and loved his family endlessly. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mable in 2004. Thomas is survived by his children, Tommy DeLord and wife Sallie, Terry DeLord, Brenda White and Michael and wife Brandy all of Flat; sister, Burdeen Bell of Killeen; brother, Johnny DeLord of Gatesville; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
