Jackie Stovall

Jackie Stovall, 80, of Gatesville, passed away at 6:45 PM on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at a Gatesville nursing home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Funeral Services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday at Scott’s Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Grossman officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Jackie was born on November 15, 1927 to the late G.W. and Beulah Whaley Stovall in Hubbard, Texas. After being drafted to the war and serving in the Philippines he began his Civil Service career of 33 years at Ft. Hood. After retirement he worked for 10 years at Powell Supply in Gatesville and another 12 years with his son Randy at his auto body shop. He was also a member of Eastwood Baptist Church. The family will serve as pallbearers. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Danny Stovall and one sister, Billie Whatley Jackie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Stovall of Gatesville; daughter, Lana Collier and husband David of Georgetown; sons, Kenny Stovall and wife Lisa, Randy Stovall and wife Tracye both of Gatesville; eight grandchildren, Steven and Marc Collier, Ashley, Micah, Kayleigh and Mariah Stovall, Ryan and Callie Stovall; two great granddaughters, Milah and Chloe Lane; sister, Doris Donaldson of San Antonio and one niece, Nelda Whatley of Temple.
